Stereotypes and prejudice

In this lesson Access teachers and students were honored to have Mr. Micah Risher, Regional English Language Officer in Belgrade as their guest.

At the beginning of the lesson our guest prepared a fun activity for the students in which they had the opportunity to ask him questions and get to know him better.

The following activity sparkled interest and lively conversation about the topic in which our guest took part as well. As soon as students realized that they were supposed to make judgments based solely on people’s names, surnames, physical appearance, etc. they started talking that it was not fair to make prejudices. Students discussed their choices and highlighted prejudices and stereotypes during a very lively discussion followed, developing their critical thinking skills. During this lesson they were able not only to accomplish all the tasks successfully but also to be very entertaining and make their guest and teachers have a lot of fun.
