Earth Day

Access students celebrated 52nd anniversary of Earth Day with the guest Mr. Corporal Jake Habada, Marine Security Guard at the U.S. Embassy Podgorica. As this year’s theme is ‘’Invest in Our Planet’’, they had a great opportunity to discuss the idea behind the theme, possible ways of investing in our planet and protecting the environment, while still satisfying all needs of modern society. The discussion started with brainstorming ideas associated with the Earth Day as students already had a chance to learn about the environment through the program. With Mr. Habada the topic was broadened and discussed further. Thus, they focused on preservation and protection of the planet, how to take an active role in contributing to the Earth’s well-being, taking into consideration its prospects as well. Access students created Happy Earth Day’s cards suggesting what they as individuals can do in their daily life to preserve our planet. In the end, they were very creative and resourceful to recycle wasted paper and make a beautiful paper garden with flowers they dreamed of. Just a simple example of turning paper into art can lead to many other ways of recycling and keeping the Earth well protected not only for our sake but for the sake of the future generations as well.
