Think Globally, Teach Locally in Ulcinj

The fourth workshop with teachers from Bar, Budva and Ulcinj was held on December 4 as part of the ‘Think Globally, Teach Locally’ project, which is financially supported by the U.S. Embassy in Podgorica and implemented by ELTAM in elementary school “Bosko Strugar” in Ulcinj.

The workshop was conducted with the aim of training teachers how to apply innovative teaching methods and techniques through the teaching content of global issues such as civic engagement, human rights, tolerance and inclusion. Workshop was facilitated by the U.S. English Language Fellow Hansley Cazeau. Participants had the opportunity to get familiar, theoretically and practically, with the discussion method called the Socratic Seminar, which they will practice with their students over the next few weeks. This method is an important tool for the development of students’ critical and analytical thinking skills, and it also contributes to the development of critical awareness and soft skills – social, interpersonal and communication skills.
