Access Program students from Niksic have participated in various volunteering activities during the ongoing year and showed eagerness, great enthusiasm, a strong wish to help those in need and contribute to their local community and its well-being. Through numerous community service activities, our Access family has learned how important it is to offer some help in making a more hopeful, stable and peaceful world. While giving and sharing with others, Access Program Niksic students learned about empathy and compassion for others, and most importantly, created challenging and fulfilling experiences which they will turn into long-lasting memories.
As a result of marvelous devotion, constant work, and small acts of kindness, appreciation, and usefulness, Access Program Niksic has been awarded a prestigious 2019 Volunteering Award for organizations and volunteers that contributed to the development and promotion of volunteerism in Niksic, given by the non-governmental organization Alfa Center, with the support of the Active Citizens Fund. The award is intended for one volunteer or one organization who has been distinguished in volunteer work and activities, in the involvement of volunteers and other areas by contributing to the development of volunteerism in the municipality of Niksic. This is the very first time that the award has been presented, which makes it very special and significant for the Access Program Niksic. The organizer of the event was the Alfa Center Volunteer Club – NGO Alfa Center Niksic in cooperation with the Public Institution “Zahumlje”, within the Niksic Cultural Scene 2019 and the event took place on December 9, at 8 pm.
During the event, which was attended by both students and teachers, English Access Microscholarship Program Niksic was given the award and recognition that greatly extend our efforts, work, and devotion. The award was presented to us by the great humanitarian and esteemed doctor from Niksic, Dr. Radomir Mijanovic who has dedicated his life to volunteering and helping others.
The mentioned recognition is a strong impetus to continue with the same intensity and with the same desire so as to never forget the local community and people in it.
