Teachers from Podgorica, Tuzi, Kolašin, Cetinje, Nikšić, Danilovgrad, Plužine, Žabljak and Šavnik had a great opportunity to attend an online workshop on February 12 as part of the ‘Think Globally, Teach Locally’ adventure, financially supported by the U.S. Embassy in Podgorica and implemented by ELTAM.
The main goal of the workshop was to introduce Montenegrin teachers to innovative teaching methods and techniques taking into consideration global issues – such as civic engagement, human rights, tolerance and inclusion. Workshop was facilitated by the U.S. English Language Fellow Hansley Cazeau. Participants mastered a discussion method called the Socratic Seminar, a new tool they will use in their future work with students. This method not only enhances students’ critical and analytical thinking skills, but it also expands and advances their social, interpersonal and communication skills.
