Keeping up with the festive spirit of the class, students celebrated World Teachers’ Day, together with the special guest Mr. Hansley Cazeau, the U.S. English language fellow. As the topic of this year’s celebration is ‘’Teachers at the heart of education recovery’’, students had a unique opportunity to discuss the topic with the guest, paying due attention to the importance of denoting this day and the importance of teachers in students’ lives. The discussion got deeper while they were working in groups, being privileged to have guest’s attention all the time. They discussed some sub-topics related to the person who shapes their personalities most, some best and worst things of being a teacher, things that make a good teacher, teaching as a profession or a way of life…As a surprise for us – the teachers, students created a video sending a message of appreciation. ’Thank you for making me believe in myself, for helping me find a way to overcome my fears, learning my strengths and making me the best version of myself ’; ’May you inspire others to achieve the greatness you have!‘ were just some of the messages they sent, showing that the role of today’s teachers is indispensable and crucial in everybody’s life.
