The Essence of International Women’s Day was organized in cooperation with Education Center, Parliament of Montenegro. The guest on today’s event was Ms. Božena Jelušić, a member of the Montenegrin Assembly. The topic was utterly inspiring and Ms. Božena caught our attention with a lot of interesting facts from the past as well as the present regarding the position of women in Montenegrin society. Among other important issues, Ms. Jelušić emphasized the importance of understanding that even our language is showing gender inequalities. Mr. Božena kindly answered the questions about her personal challenges, where women stand today in politics and science, the role of a woman in family in the past and today as well as what her opinion is about gender equality and how it can be improved.
Students expressed that they enjoyed participating in the event and that they would very much like to have Ms. Božena as a guest again. Students shared their impressions which revealed that they were genuinely interested in the topic and were critically thinking about it.
