On 24th of May the entire Access team Podgorica – students and teachers had an opportunity to be hosted by Her Excellency, Margaret Ann Uyehara, the Ambassador of the USA to Montenegro in her residence in Mareza, Podgorica. The Ambassador was a true host and introduced us with her own rich family heritage, American-Asian culture, basics of Japanese language, culture and customs, and the art of sushi making. After a brief introduction about her and her husband’s family heritage, Ms. Uyehara presented a way to make a sushi meal. The students and the teachers had an opportunity to make it by themselves as well. Mr. Weinberg and the Ambassador showed a way to use chopsticks so that the joy of eating sushi would be complete. After making sushi, Ms. Uyehara invited everyone for a dinner that included some of the best Japanese and American dishes. Access students gave a hand- made present to Her Excellency, made on one of the previous classes.
