Easter

Access students had a great pleasure to meet special guest Ms. Carolyn Richley, Office of Defence Cooperation and Ms. Jelena Vojnić, Public Affairs Office, the U.S. Embassy in Podgorica. The discussion was started up by a brainstorming activity about what things they associate with Easter in the U.S. and our guest provided firsthand information about the origin of the word Easter, Lent, Ash Wednesday, the origin of Easter Bunny, eggs, the White house Easter egg roll…

Students had an opportunity to get insight into important aspects of the holiday like Good Friday, symbols of Easter, Easter parade and its importance to Americans … After the discussion about American and Montenegrin Easter values as well as similarities and differences between the two Easter traditions, we acknowledged that we weren’t the only ones who found out new things about this holiday but our guest learned something about Montenegrin Easter values as well. The session ended up with reading beautiful poems students wrote on their own, expressing not only their thoughts about Easter but creativity and imagination as well.
