Summer camp 2022 – Official opening

Access students were privileged to welcome Mr. Chris Karber, Charge d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy Podgorica, and with the regard to the topic “Exploration of Culture”, deepen their knowledge about the culture by comparing and finding similarities as well as differences between American and Montenegrin one. At the very beginning, Mr. Karber addressed the students and shared his rich experience regarding living in different cultures, discovering customs and traditions, and experiencing cultural clashes and anecdotes. By listening to music from the places he visited, students were transferred from India to Brazil, Portugal, and even to his hometown, far away in the south of the USA, to Arkansas, the home of jazz, amazing fried food, and many other interesting things the guest mentioned. While working in groups, students discussed with the guest various cultural aspects, such as understanding the phenomena of culture, its values, and beliefs, how it is transmitted from generation to generation, etc. Mr. Chris Karber gave his best to explain all the aspects students were eager to know creating an incredibly pleasant working atmosphere while everyone was enjoying a lively and mind-provoking discussion.
